The terms for using Gift of Language

These terms are the agreement between you and us for using the Gift of Language website, its practice and tests, and the paid courses. Please read them with our privacy policy, which explains how we handle your information.

1. Who we are

Gift of Language is the educational imprint of Go2Core Learn Engine LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India (“we”, “us”).

2. Using the site

Anyone can watch the episodes and read the word pages without an account. Practice and tests need a free account. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you create an account, you confirm these terms and the privacy policy when you sign up.

[Who may create an account: to be decided before public sign-up opens (for example, people aged 18 and over, or younger learners with a parent’s or guardian’s consent). Keep this in step with section 9 of the privacy policy.]

3. Your account

Give your real name and an email address you use, and keep your password to yourself. An account is for one person; do not share it.
You are responsible for what is done with your account. If you think someone else has used it, change your password and write to us.
You can close your account at any time under My data, or by writing to us from the email address on the account. Before you do, ask for any refund you are due: paid access ends when the account is deleted.

4. Free use and the courses

Vocabulary episodes and English Grammar Chapter 1 (Parts of Speech, episodes 1 and 2) are Free to watch. A free account saves your practice and shows your dashboard, with a limited number of free practice sets on each free episode (shown before you start). The paid courses (Universal Core Vocabulary, Grammar and Language Functions, and their bundles) add unlimited practice on their subject, the other English Grammar episodes, graded tests, review practice and progress reports; an exam extension adds unlimited practice on that exam's extra episodes. Each lasts for the period stated with it (12 months unless it says otherwise). Universal Core Language Functions, and the exam episodes still being produced, are added during that period as they are ready; each product says what is available now.

We may add, change or remove episodes, questions and features to improve the course. If we remove a paid feature while your access is active, we will offer you a fair remedy, such as a refund for the unused part.

5. Prices, payment and invoices

The courses are sold for a fixed period (12 months unless stated). Prices in Indian rupees include GST; payments in US dollars from outside India carry no GST as an export of services. If you already own a course that a bundle includes, the bundle's price is reduced by what you paid for it, for the share of its time still left.
Each purchase is a one-time payment. Nothing renews automatically, and we never charge you again without your action. We email you before your access ends; you can switch these reminders off on My plan.
If you renew a course in the last two months of its access, the new period starts when the current one ends, so you lose no days.
Payments are taken only through our payment gateway, Cashfree. We never see or store your card, bank or UPI details.
What you buy is yours once the gateway confirms your payment. Every payment gets an invoice from Go2Core Learn Engine LLP, with a line for each item and its GST (printed books are exempt from GST), which you can see and download under My invoices.
If you live outside India, the price includes Indian GST (IGST). Any taxes or charges your own country or bank adds are yours to pay.

6. Refunds

You can ask for a refund on My plan or by email. When we refund a payment, we issue a GST credit note, and the access from that payment ends. A purchase whose value was credited towards a later upgrade cannot be refunded on its own while that upgrade stands; refunding the upgrade gives back the access it replaced. Refunds go back through the payment gateway to the way you paid. Nothing in these terms limits a right to a refund that the law of your country gives you.

7. Levels, results and exams

Levels, scores, reports and recommendations are produced automatically and are indicative. They are aligned with the CEFR (Council of Europe), but they are not official CEFR certificates and are not issued by any examining body.
We prepare learners for many exams, but we are not connected with, approved by or endorsed by any exam authority. Exam names are trademarks of their owners.
We work hard to make the course accurate and useful, but we cannot promise any particular result in an exam.

8. Fair use

Please do not:

copy, sell, republish or share our videos, questions, explanations, tests or tips outside Gift of Language, or let others use your paid access;
use bots, scrapers or other automated means to collect questions or answers;
try to break into accounts or systems, get around payment, or interfere with the site;
send anything unlawful, abusive or misleading in a problem report or email.

If you break these rules, we may suspend or close your account. [What happens to a paid pass when an account is closed for a breach: to be decided, for example a refund of the unused part except for serious breaches.]

9. Our content

The episodes, questions, explanations, tips, reports and the Gift of Language framework belong to Go2Core Learn Engine LLP or the people who license them to us, and are protected by copyright. You may use them for your own learning. Teachers who want to use them in class should write to us first.

Episodes are hosted on YouTube, and YouTube’s own terms apply to the video player.

10. Availability and changes to the site

We aim to keep the site available at all times, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.

11. Our responsibility to you

[Limitation of liability: to be written with the lawyer. For example: we are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms; we are not responsible for indirect loss; and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.]

12. Ending the agreement

You can stop using the site and close your account at any time. We may close an account under section 8, or close accounts that have not been confirmed by email, as described in the privacy policy. If we ever stop offering a paid course, we will refund the unused part of its active access.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a complaint, please email us first so we can try to put it right. [Courts with jurisdiction: to be confirmed with the lawyer, for example the courts at Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.] If you live outside India, you keep any protection the consumer law of your country gives you.

14. Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we update the date at the top. If a change materially affects account holders, we tell them by email before it takes effect. A change does not affect a pass you have already paid for, unless the change is to your benefit.
